Leipzig lies in a lowland region in the north-west of the federal state of Saxony in Eastern Germany. The rivers Elster, Pleisse and Parthe run through the city.
The climate is mild. Leipzig has over 500,000 inhabitants and the whole area covers 297.6 km². |
